Live Music: Leguitar

We are proud to bring you the music of Leguitar (Howard Le) on June 29th. He is a professional classical, Spanish, and traditional guitarist and composer.

Mr. Le believes “life creates music, and music enhances life”. Because of this, he pursues music as “an ambition to bring more happiness to life” (Leguitar.com). He has been devoting his life to music for the last 30 years and has been playing guitar, composing, and arranging his whole life.

He has been a member of the New York City Classical Guitar Society, the Amateur Classical Music Association, and the September Concert Foundation of New York City. Mr. Le has performed at Carnegie Hall three times and is a yearly staple at the Vermont International Festival.

Recital Night at Rembrandt’s

Recital Night at

Rembrandt's Gallery and Wine Bar logo

You and I know that there is a hidden wealth of talented musicians in our area.

Generally, their only performance option is to play a single recital piece for family, friends, or solo & ensemble judges.

For this reason, Rembrandt’s Gallery & Wine Bar is creating “Recital Night at Rembrandt’s”, giving musicians the opportunity to perform a set of pieces to an interested public audience in a beautiful historic (yet unintimidating) space.

Wanted:
Indiana & Kentucky's Best Performers

Young woman playing violin

Recital nights will be held on Thursday evenings starting at 6:00 PM. There will be no charge to perform or attend.

We welcome all classical, jazz, and acoustic performances. This is a great way for budding professionals to get experience and exposure, and it doesn't look bad on college applications and résumés.

Man playing the clarinet

As the event becomes more popular we may host events like the "Battle of the Clarinets" (for example), showcasing the area's best players of a particular instrument or genre.

Hands playing the piano

We have recently built a small ensemble performance stage, which includes our 5'8" Yamaha baby grand piano made at the famous Yamaha piano factory in Hamamatsu, Japan.

Everyone who has played it has commented on its rich tone.

Young man with saxophone

We are inviting intermediate to advanced soloists and small ensembles to contact us at
812-273-5050 so that we can schedule a performance of up to one hour in length. We are hoping to schedule several performers for
the evening.

Performers should bring their own accompanist (if needed). The recitals will be live entertainment during regular dining hours and should be acoustic pieces.

Young girl singing on stage

Because our stage is on the family side of our establishment, there is no age limit to perform. Child prodigies, retired professionals, and talented performers in between are all welcome.

Some performers may be even be asked to come back for a paid performance on a Friday or Saturday evening.

We are extremely excited to begin this new performance option for performers and the general public in beautiful historic downtown Madison. If you haven't been to Rembrandt's yet, check us out at 323-325 East Main Street.

Interior of Rembrandt's Gallery and Wine Bar

Our building is an old wagon & carriage factory that has been transformed into a beautiful dining room that magically lights up at night. Sparkling chandeliers and string lights illuminate handcrafted wooden tables and regional fine arts and crafts.

Stop by on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday from 5:00–10:00 PM when we offer our fresh wood-fired pizza, gourmet hamburgers, and artisan wines and ciders from around the world. We're adding craft beers and high end liquors soon, too!

The City Approved Our License!

You may have heard by now…

Last Wednesday, the City of Madison approved our request for a riverfront 3-way liquor license!

That means that very, very soon (after going through the state’s red tape) we will be able to bring you a selection of fine liquors and craft beers as well as our regular wine list.

As with our wine, we plan to stock items that aren’t widely available to the public but taste amazing. That way, you can experience some exciting new drinks that you (as our guest) may not have seen before. We also plan to add a craft cocktail list in the near future.

Once again, we want to thank you all for your loyal support… and a special thank you to the community members that stood up in the City Hall meetings to speak for us.

You can view the (somewhat tense!) City Council meeting in its entirety at https://vimeo.com/showcase/3465565/video/335040678. The discussion about our license starts at 15:20.

Last Chance Wine Tastings

You probably already know that we’re in the process of getting a 3-way Riverfront liquor license. While that will give us the ability to bring you delicious and unique craft beer, liquor, and cocktail options, it will also take away our ability to sell carryout alcohol.

That means we won’t be able to take orders for carryout at significantly lowered prices anymore… but we’ve got you covered.

For TWO NIGHTS ONLY we are offering the chance to attend two special intimate wine tastings with 16 carefully selected wines from our favorite distributors that you can order and take home for your own collection…at a HUGE DISCOUNT.

The first tasting, on Wednesday, April 24th, will feature wines from Johnson Brothers of Indiana. Kyle Geis, their resident wine expert, will be presenting eight amazing wines from around the world and speaking about the unique properties of each.

The second tasting, on Wednesday, May 1st, will be with Michel Pascal of Carroll Wine and Spirits. He has also selected eight delicious wines. If you’ve attended a tasting with Michel before, you already know how entertaining he can be!

Each tasting will be $29.95 for a ticket, which will cover the cost of the 8 wines presented and some light appetizers. The tastings will start at 7:00 PM (we recommend attending both, since they will feature completely different wines!).

Call 812-221-1033 and leave a message to make your reservation today… seats will be VERY limited!
